ITINERARY

Day 1/2/3: Metropolitan Tokyo

Fly into either of Tokyo's International Airports (Haneda or Narita) to be met on arrival by our local staff. If you have a choice, Haneda is closer to the city centre. But either way we'll get you to your first hotel. Three nights in the capital where your senses will certainly come alive. Culinary delights awaits in this city that never sleeps!

You will be met on your second day by our local Tokyo staff who will show you the ropes and make sure you are comfortable getting around on your own. Also included will be the option to go on a day trip to Hakone/Mt Fuji area.

Match transfers to see Ireland take on Japan in what we expect will be one of the best games of the series. Japanese supporters will be there in full glory waiting to tackle the Ireland squad. You will be invited to our Unique Japan Rugby Tour Post-Match party at a local izakaya.

Day 4 & 5: Ancient Capital Kyoto

Spend two nights in the ancient and culture capital of Japan that is Kyoto. Travel across on the high speed bullet train. Explore Kyoto's World Heritage sites with our local guide. Experience a traditional tea ceremony in one of Gion's oldest tea houses. Meet the scattering Geisha as they move from one appointment to the next. Soak up the quintessential atmosphere, found only in Kyoto and unique to Japan.

Day 6 & 7: Port City Kobe

Hop on the shinkansen (bullet train) again today westwards to Kobe, a small port city that had to rebuild itself after the great 1994 earthquake. Today this vibrant city is famous for producing world class sake (rice wine). Our friends at a certain brewery are excited to welcome our Irish fans to show how they produce and export their wine all over the world. Following a sneaky sake tasting, you will be transferred to the stadium to watch Ireland play Russia for their third match of the series.

Celebrate with us after the game at one of Kobe's traditional Japanese Izakaya's for a post-match party !

Day 8: Tour Ends

Sadly your tour will end today. If you wish to extend, just ask. We can arrange post-tour hotels in any part of Japan including tropical Japan!

Ideally, you need to fly home from Kansai International Airport. However if flights are busy/expensive, you will have the Japan Rail Pass so can easily make your way back to Tokyo at no extra cost. Journey time from Kobe to Tokyo Narita Airport will be 4 hours / Haneda Airport 3 hours, so be careful with your departure time.
